Back in the Pool!

UWA West Coast Swimming Club, Sun May 24, 2020 10:30AM

Early morning at UWA Aquatic Center

Wet again!

UWA-West Coast is pleased to confirm that our swimmers can return to the pool for squad training from Tuesday 2 June at the UWA Aquatic Centre in Crawley and at HBF Stadium, Mt Claremont.

Junior and recreational swimmers do not need to be members of the club, to train in the new club administered squads. If swimmers have friends or family who are 7 years or older and would like to join our squads, please get them to contact president@wawestcoast.org

Registrations for a mixture of Pool & Land training is to be offered shortly as the next 4-week block of training. This means the last of the current block of 'Virtual' & 'Actual' dryland sessions will end next Saturday 30 May 2020.

The Club plans to send out a communication early next week inviting members to register for the next block of training that starts immediately after the long weekend for the following groups:

Junior Squads, Emerging Nationals, Developing Nationals, Performing Nationals and Fitness Squads.

Careful planning for a safe return to training is based on:

  • Advice from our coachesas to appropriate athlete workloads as they rebuild their fitness;
  • A limit on the number of swimmers per pool and per lane at the different venues;
  • Gaining access to as much water space as possible to satisfy as many of our members as possible.

Initially, the Club will be offering a 4-week training block consisting of a set number of one-hour sessions at a fixed price.

The number of sessions offered per week will vary by squad, but we are aiming to offer a minimum of two to three sessions per week.

If COVID-19 restrictions are eased further during June, we expect to offer additional or extended sessions at an additional price.

Registrations will be available on our webstore UWSC Shop

Thanks for all your support and stay safe.
