Only Swimming WA registered competitive members are eligible for Junior Club Championship awards which are conducted over 2 Rounds. All times swum will be submitted to Swimming WA for recognition as official times to be used for future online event entries. Maximum four (4) events per swimmer per round.
Age calculations for Junior Club Championship awards will be set as at the date of Round 1 (eg: if a swimmer is 10 for Round 1 and turns 11 before Round 2, the age for award purposes is set at 10.).
The Junior Club Championships will be conducted using a Pentathlon format for 9, 10, 11 & 12 year-old age groups who will swim five (5) events. Eight year-olds & under must swim four (4) events to be eligible for their age-group award.
Swimmers can complete their required number of events over the two rounds, but the first time they swim a particular stroke or distance it will be registered as the Junior Club Championship time.
Each of the swimmer’s times are added together to obtain the cumulative time.
Age Group awards are given according to the lowest cumulative times with trophies awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th place-getters in each of the boys & girls age groups.
As times are required to determine the final awards, if a swimmer is disqualified in an event they will be given the slowest time that is swum in that swimmer’s age-group event.
